Call it the iPhone 7 launch effect or a festive offer by HTC, but buyers of the company's latest flagship won't find a better time to purchase HTC 10. The Taiwanese tech giant announced on Facebook on Sunday that its premium HTC 10 flagship smartphone will be available for Rs 5,000 cheaper than its regular price.
HTC 10, which was launched in May this year, was priced at Rs. 52,990, but the new price cut in India makes it available at Rs. 47,990. The company did not mention whether this is a limited period offer or a permanent price cut, but the change is effective immediately.
With this offer, the HTC 10 is cheaper than the latest iPhone 7 series and the Pixel, but it still fails to outbid the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. In another comparison, OnePlus 3 strikes as a compelling alternative to HTC 10 and also costs just Rs. 27,990.
HTC 10 runs Google's Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but the company confirmed that it will be its first smartphone to get Android 7.0 Nougat this year. In terms of specs, like any other flagship, HTC 10 also boasts top-of-the-line features to justify its high price tag.
It has premium metallic design, a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a 12-Ultrapixel primary camera and a 5MP front snapper. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM and a 3,000mAh battery. The smartphone comes in Carbon Grey and Topaz Gold colours.
