Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC launched seven new smartphones -- HTC 10, 10 Lifestyle, One M9, Desire 830, 825, 630 and Desire 628 (dual) -- in India on May 26.
This is a nice move by HTC as it can improve its market share in India. By launching multiple new devices, the company will be able to offer choices to comsumers from budget to top-end, in several price segments.
For the uninitiated, HTC 10 and 10 Lifestyle are top-end among the lot. They share most of the features, but differ in two key aspects. The former boasts the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC (System-on-Chip) backed by sumptuous 4GB RAM, whereas the latter comes with low-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and features 3GB RAM. The rest of the specification such as screen, camera, battery capacity, build quality and design language remain the same in both the devices.
The key attribute of HTC 10 series is their camera hardware. They boast 5MP front snapper with f/1.8 aperture and OIS, making HTC 10 series devices the only smartphones in the market to boast front camera with Optical Imaging technology.
On the back, they come with a 12MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, second-generation laser autofocus, dual-tone LED, OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), auto HDR.
On the other hand, HTC One X9 was first unveiled in China last year in December. It sports a full HD display and comes packed with MediaTek's Helio X10 octa-core, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage and a high-capacity 3000 mAh battery.
HTC Desire 830 made its debut just a few weeks ago in Taiwan. It features a 5.5-inch full HD display, 64-bit class 1.5GHz MediaTek Helio X10 backed by ARM Mali-T720 graphics engine, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory and a 2800mAh battery.
HTC's Desire 628 (dual) too made its official debut earlier this month, but in Vietnam. It features 5.0-inch HD (1280x720p) screen, 1.3GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 13MP primary camera , 5MP front snapper and a 2200mAh cell.
HTC Desire 825 and 630 were originally unveiled at World Mobile Congress (MWC) 2016 in February. The former comes with 5.5-inch HD super LCD screen, Android Marshmallow OS backed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory, 13MP camera on the rear-side, 5MP front snapper, and a 2700mAh battery.
The latter flaunts 5.0-inch HD screen and comes with Android Marshmallow, Snapdragon 400 CPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and a 2200mAh cell.
As far as pricing is concerned, HTC 10, One X9, Desire 825 and 628 (dual) cost Rs. 52,990, Rs. 25,990, Rs. 18,990 and Rs. 13,990, respectively. All the four devices are slated to hit stores in June, NDTV Gadgets 360 reported.
However, there is no word on price and release details of HTC 10 Lifestyle, Desire 830 and 630 series phones.
