Actor Hrithik Roshan's schedule is packed, with "Krish 3" already in post production stages, the ongoing shooting with Katrina Kaif in "Bang Bang" and Karan Johar's "Shuddhi" lined up for the last quarter of the year.

But for the superstar, family is always a priority.

Hrithik readily gave in to his grandparent's request to attend the Maha Shivratri Puja at the family Shiv Mandir in Raigad district.

"Hrithik couldn't turn down such an appeal from his grandfather so he requested the producers to shift the schedule slightly. Last night Hrithik drove down to Panvel with his entire family. He will celebrate it today and drive back to Mumbai on Monday morning to fulfil his work commitments," said a source to DNA.

Despite shooting for Siddharth Anand's "Bang Bang," a remake Hollywood's "Knight and Day," Hrithik readily agreed to participate in the festivities since the family temple in Panvel completed its 25th year. The temple was built by his grandfather J Om Prakash. The family also own a farmhouse in Panvel.

The source also said, "Every year Hrithik, along with his wife Sussanne, sister Sunaina, parents Rakesh and Pinky Roshan and his grandparents, visit this Shiv Mandir at Apta in Raigad district to pray for Maha Shivratri. Hrithik has been visiting the temple every year for the last 12 years except last year (shooting for Krrish 3). He performs the puja there and also feeds people from the area."

The actor is slated to play Lord Shiva in "Shuddhi," an adaptation of Amish Tripathi's "The Immortals Melhua". The film which goes on floors later this month will have either Deepika or Kareena playing the role of Princess Sati.
