Hrithik Roshan is looking at expediting "Mohenjo Daro" shoot, but it looks like it won't be necessary. According to trade experts, Hrithik's period drama and Aamir Khan's "Dangal" could swap release dates, but this piece of news cannot be taken on face value at this point.
Considering UTV Disney is producing both the films, they wouldn't want to jeopardise the hard work that has gone into making the projects. But, pushing the release date of the period drama would mean Hrithik will have to go without a film for almost two years.
"One can't be sure if that would please Hrithik Roshan much since he has been without a release for over a year-and-a-half already, considering Bang Bang came in October 2014. It is tough for him to swap with Dangal on Christmas Day weekend either, since that would bring him quite close to his own Kaabil. It'd be really messy," a source told DNA.
Although there's no confirmation, there's been a strong buzz that Aamir is rethinking his decision of releasing "Dangal" during the festive period of Christmas. The superstar apparently feels the action-drama is extremely telling and gives off patriotic vibes, which is why the I-Day weekend fits well.
This has left the trade pundits confused. They are trying to wrap their heads around why the 50-year-old actor would let go of the period during which his film could run without stiff competition. Ranveer Singh's "Befikre" will be out on Dec. 9, which gives Aamir's film a clear track.
"The next major biggies after Dangal are Baadshaho and Kaabil, which arrive on January 26, 2017. He'd be getting four straight weeks for his film, had he stuck to his original release date," the leading daily quoted a veteran as saying.
"Phir Hera Pheri 3" with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead and Akshay Kumar's "Rustom" are two other films blocked for an Aug. 12 release.
