The producers of Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil have planned to dub the movie in Telugu as Balam. They are releasing the trailer and first look of its Telugu version as a Diwali treat for the audience.
Hrithik Roshan has a decent fan following in the Telugu speaking states – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. His recent outings like Krrish, Dhoom film series and Bang Bang were dubbed in Telugu and released along with the original on the same date and made good collections at the box office. Now, the makers are dubbing Kaabil in Telugu in a bid to cash in on the popularity of Duggu in these states.
The producers have released a statement to the media announcing the details of the release of first look and trailer of Balam. "Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan are back together for the new action thriller Kaabil. This movie will have a big release in Telugu markets and the Telugu version has been titled Balam. The first look and trailer of Balam will be out for Diwali," reads their statement.
Hrithik Roshan first teamed up with his father Rakesh Roshan in the hit movie Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in 2000. Following its success, the actor joined hands with the filmmaker for blockbuster movies - Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish and Krrish 3. They are coming together for the fifth time and this big budget extravaganza is set to repeat the same magic once again at the box office.
Kaabil is a drama thriller film, which story has been written by Vijay Mishra. Sanjay Gupta is directing the movie, which is produced by Rakesh Roshan under his banner FilmKraft Productions. Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam are playing the lead roles, while Ronit Roy, Rohit Roy and Girish Kulkarni appear in the supporting cast. Urvashi Rautela is making a special appearance in a song.
Producer Rajesh Roshan is composing the music for the songs and background score of Kaabil and its Telugu version, while Sudeep Chatterjee handled the cinematography. Balam is scheduled to hit theatres on January 26, 2017, on the same date of the release of its original. The makers are expected to reveal other details of the Telugu film soon.
