After Hrithik Roshan, looks like his "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" co-star has been finalised for a pivotal role in "Dhoom 3" director Vijay Krishna Acharya's movie "Thug." Hrithik will reportedly share screen-space with Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming movie.
Recently, Hrithik confirmed that he is doing Yash Raj Films' movie with director Vijay, also known as Victor. Now reports suggest that Amitabh has joined the cast of the upcoming movie. Though Big B will not be seen in the lead role, he will be playing an important part in the film.
"While Hrithik Roshan will be seen as main lead Amitabh Bachchan has a special role in Thug. Although, Sr Bachchan's character isn't lengthy, it is certainly an impactful one," Absolute India quoted a source as saying.
"Sr. Bachchan has been approached and is believed to have loved script and his character. He has also given his nod to the makers. If all goes well, the film will go on floor later this year," the source added.
Hrithik and Amitabh have worked in two films – "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" and "Lakshya" – and this will be their third film together.
Last year, there were rumours of Amitabh and Hrithik teaming up for the fourth instalment of "Dhoom" franchise, "Dhoom 4." However, the director later denied saying that there they have no plans of working with Amitabh yet.
If the latest reports turn out to be true, then it will be interesting to see Hrithik and Amitabh coming back on-screen after almost a decade.
Meanwhile, there have also been rumours that Deepika Padukone and Parineeti Chopra have been approached for the leading lady role, but the makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the same.
