After "Shuddhi", Hrithik Roshan is set to walk out of another big banner film produced by Excel Entertainments.
Roshan had recently replaced Aamir Khan in Excel's science fiction film, based on the theme of time travel. The actor had given his nod to the project and was expected to be paired opposite Deepika Padukone in the film.
However, it has now emerged that the 40-year-old will not be able to commit to the project owing to date clashes with Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama "Mohenjo-daro".
"Hrithik has already agreed to do Ashutosh Gowariker's period epic, 'Mohenjo-Daro'. The time when Ashutosh's film goes on floor clashes with Excel's time-travel drama. He can only choose one out of the two," Mumbai Mirror quoted a source.
The production house is now looking forward to replace the "Krrish 3" actor with major league star Ranbir Kapoor, the source explained. The "Barfi!" actor might soon be approached with the film's script, but it remains to be seen whether he approves the project or gives it a miss.
Roshan's ouster from the science fiction film also puts the highly expected pairing of the actor with Padukone in the backseat. And if Kapoor comes on board, he might reunite with Padukone again after "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani". The duo is also going to be seen together in Imtiaz Ali's upcoming film "Window Seat."
As of now, Excel film's situation appears to be similar to Karan Johar's "Shuddhi", which too has seen endless speculations over its cast in the recent the months. Roshan had earlier signed Johar's film but walked out of it later.
