Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan go way back. The stars may not have been thick as thieves, but they do share a warm, cordial friendship.
A few days ago, their rapport came under the scanner after reports of Salman and Hrithik avoiding each other at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2016 surfaced. Sources said that the "Sultan" star was not too pleased with the way Hrithik handled his request of having Daisy Shah as his dance partner for his act at the awards show.
Turns out, the actors are in touch and there is no bad blood between them. He told the media that what is being written about their fractured friendship is "nonsense," adding that all is well.
"I can't wait to see the film. Although I've been out of the country, I've been on the phone with Salman about Sultan ever since we met in Madrid for an awards function. I missed the screening that he had for his friends before release. But he promised me my own screening the minute I return to India," the Hindustan Times quoted Hrithik as saying.
Rewind to the times when Hrithik and Salman were at war (with words).
Six years ago, the slightly senior superstar had used a scathing analogy to say that "Guzaarish" wasn't watched by too many people ("film ('Guzaarish') ko ek kutta bhi dekhne nahi gaya"), to which Hrithik had responded graciously.
Talking to the Times of India, the "Mohenjo Daro" star had said that it is unheroic and unfair to make fun of films, which aren't at par with others (in terms of box office collection). The actor pointed out that success should make one more gracious and loving, and people should use the power to turn "enemies into friends" and be more giving than laugh at others.
By the time I finish this sentence, I have already forgiven his words, because I know deep inside he only has love for me and this must have been just a momentary lapse of judgement. Will expect a big hug the next time I meet him," Hrithik had concluded.
