Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan underwent a successful brain surgery at the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday. He was diagnosed with chronic Subdural Hematoma, a serious condition caused as a result of head injury.
"Hrithik Roshan was performing stunts for his upcoming film Bang Bang two months ago and he suffered an injury on his head. He started developing pain and hence he started taking pain killers but they wouldn't work. So, he went for a CT scan in May end. Later it was found that there was a clot in the brain," Dr VK Mishra, who is treating him, told reporters.
The 39-year-old "Krrish" was operated between 2 pm - 3 pm on Sunday. He is now reported to be fully conscious and doing well.
Hrithik will be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days and will take a four-week break to recover and resume the shooting of his upcoming film "Bang Bang" with Katrina Kaif.
His wife Sussanne was present at the hospital throughout the surgery.
"Thank you for all your love and concern, Hrithik has come out of the surgery stronger than ever before. Gratitude and love to all of you for all your good wishes and prayers for him," said Sussanne.
Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri who happens to be Sussane's best friend was by her side when Hrithik was undergoing the surgery.
Actors Sanjay Kapoor and Sharman Joshi also came to visit their friend at the hospital.
Hours before the surgery, Hrithik posted a message for his fans on Facebook.
"I am going to go through brain surgery today and want you to know that I am going in with absolute power to recover fast. My thanks to all of you for using the power of your mind to contribute to my life. Love you all," he said.
