Ever since Hrithik Roshan opted out of Karan Johar's most ambitious project "Shuddhi," there has been speculations as who would replace him for the lead role.
Reports of Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor being considered for the project surfaced long back, and the latest rumour suggests that the original cast Roshan may be back in the race.
Trade sources have hinted that there is a very small possibility that the "Krrish 3" actor may be considered for the film again, but nothing has been finalised yet, The Times of India reported.
The suspense and speculations over the lead pair will continue until the film's producer Johar reveals it.
Its only Johar, director of "Shuddhi" Karan Malhotra and the team know what is happening with the film and who will be cast for the lead roles.
Earlier, Johar announced the release date of the film and also said that the final cast will be declared soon.
"There's a lot of conjecture about the film, but the final cast will be announced soon. We are definitely releasing the film in December 2015. The rumour mills have gone overboard and are crazy as only Karan Malhotra (director), our team and I know what's happening exactly," Johar told Hindustan Times.
The film has been in news ever since Johar announced once famed pair Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan as the lead pair.
But in February, Roshan issued a statement saying that he is not working in the film. Even the lead actress Kareena Kapoor also said that she is opting out of the film.
"Karan Malhotra (director) and I have decided to unite in the most ambitious way post "Shuddhi." For now, I cannot allow a vision like "Shuddhi" to stagnate any further. I had the finest experience as an actor working with Karan Malhotra in Agneepath and I'm sure that my dear Karans, Karan Johar and Karan Malhotra, are going to go beyond with this one. "Shuddhi" remains a part of me in spirit and I am sure it will be a landmark film in our cinema. I wish them all the best," The Times of India quoted Roshan.
