The shining superstars of Bollywood were once assistant directors of many ace directors in Bollywood.
From Hrithik Roshan to Sonam Kapoor, many actors and actresses preferred to be assistants before they made their foray into the industry.
The debut couple in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Saawariya" Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor assisted the "Black" director in his previous films.
Similarly, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra worked as assistant directors to get a hang of the film industry. They assisted director Karan Johar in "My Name is Khan" before making a debut on the silver screen with the superhit movie "Student of the Year."
Hrithik who assisted his father-director Rakesh Roshan in several film made his debut in the blockbuster movie "Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai." Overnight, the sizzling dancer and ace actor became the next superstar of Bollywood.
"Ishaqzaade" actor Arjun Kapoor was no different. He worked as assistant director as well as assistant producer before his big break on the silver screen.
Serial kisser Emraan Hashmi too assisted Vikram Bhatt in 2002 horror film "Raaz" featuring Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea. Similarly, before making a smashing debut in "Band Baaja Baaraat", Ranveer Singh assisted Shaad Ali in "Bunty Aur Babli" as well as a few film ads.
