As promised, HP has begun rolling out the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary update to the company's flagship smartphone Elite x3.
The new firmware is currently available through OTA (Over-The-Air) and it will automatically notify the user through Windows Update feature if he/she has enabled the option to install the updates on their device. If not, users can also manually check for update by following the procedure given below.
To manually install the update, on Start, swipe over to the All apps list, then select Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. Then, a message to download will pop on the screen. Select yes and follow the instruction as advised. Once the installation is done, the device will re-boot and you are good to go.
For those unaware, the new Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary update brings several features, including login to apps, security updates for Windows Hello lockscreen, enhanced stylus support, improved Cortana voice-assistant feature, background music, improved UI, Microsoft Edge extensions, Windows Ink (for Stylus-enabled PCs), dark themes, tablet mode (for all-in-one PCs), and Windows 10 apps (including Cortana) integration into Xbox One.
In addition to the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary update features, it brings Double Tap to Wake support, charging LED indicator light and also fixes the nagging sudden camera shutdown glitch, which apparently forced the company to halt the sales of Elite x3 in the US till mid-October.
With the new update fixing the camera bug, HP might resume the sale of the Elite x3 soon.
