Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha have delivered blockbusters together, which is why it's not surprising when more than one filmmaker wishes to rope them in for a film. After "Namastey England," the stars may be teamed up for "Jolly LLB 2."
"Jolly LLB got good reviews from critics and audience alike and obviously the expectations from the sequel are high. The makers are keen that the second part be bigger and better and therefore have approached several A-list stars for the project. After finalising Akshay and Manoj Bajpayee, they have approached Sonakshi Sinha and a few other actresses for the film," a sourced told Mid-Day.
If everything materialises, this will be their sixth film together (if "Namastey England" is taken into account) after "Rowdy Rathore," "Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty," "Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara" and "Joker."
Meanwhile, one cannot be sure if Akshay has been confirmed for the sequel. He told Catch News that he cannot divulge details adding that it's something that is to be discussed between him and the makers.
In other news, there were reports last year that claimed that it's not just the lead cast that is being altered. Boman Irani, who played the antagonist of sorts, was being replaced with Paresh Rawal. However, there has been no update on it since.
The idea behind making such cast change is to offer something new. Since the second instalment will feature a new premise, it's only wise to have a fresh set of actors, Bollywood Hungama had reported.
Akshay will next be seen in "Rustom," which arrives in theatres on the same day as Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro." Meanwhile, Sonakshi is set to play journalist in "Noor."
