Fans of the political thriller, "House of Cards", may have to wait for a couple of months before we see the drama unfold in Capitol Hill. But rumours and predictions about the new season are rife. Admittedly, fans of the show are most interested in Washington's power couple, Francis (Kevin Spacey) and Claire Underwood (Robin Wright). However, a new report suggests that Frank Underwood may get assassinated.
Season 3 of "House of Cards" ended with Claire's refusal to live with her husband, the President of the United States. In the last clip of the season finale, the First Lady simply says, "I'm leaving you Francis", and walks out as Frank looks aghast. Reportedly, the two might get back together as season 4 progresses, but might not be together till the end.
Showrunner Beau Willimon said in an interview, "I think [Claire] is very much in love with her husband when we start this series, and she may still be in love with him when we get to the final episode of Season 3." He added that Claire's rejection of Frank and ultimately, her marriage, is recognition of the fact that she isn't a complete person while she is with her husband.
However, fans of the show would remember that Claire turned down Adam Galloway's proposal to stay with him because she wanted so much more from life. We suspect if she could achieve that without Frank by her side. Perhaps she will get back to Frank but there might be a strange twist in the plot.
According to a new report, Netflix's "House of Cards" might kill Frank Underwood's character. The TV series' plot is heavily influenced by the UK show, in which Francis Underwood's counterpart, Francis Urquhart, gets assassinated in order to "save his reputation."
"House of Cards" season 4 is rumoured to air in March 2016.
