For fans of "House of Cards," Mar. 4, 2016, can't come soon enough. If the newly released full length trailer is an indication of how Season 4 is going to unravel, then expect a vicious war between the Underwoods.
The video clip begins and ends with President Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his estranged wife Claire's (Robin Wright) fight. The President, who doesn't seem to be in the mood for reconciliation, says: "We had a future until you started destroying it."
The statement, pregnant with anger, shrouds the emotional baggage that stems from a broken marriage. The President's bruised ego is evident in his tone and body language, but so is Claire's.
In the past three seasons of "House of Cards," Claire has lived in her husband's shadow, but Season 4 will depict a stronger, more aggressive personality, one that will remain unfathomable for President Underwood when she challenges him.
In the trailer, Claire and her estranged husband's political foe, Viktor Petrov (Lars Mikkelson), are seen together. The Russian President, who kissed her at a state dinner in the White House, could become an important ally and impede President Underwood's foreign policy.
The video clip also hints at several press conferences held by Claire. It remains to be seen if she will bring President Underwood's bisexuality to the fore. If she does, then she gains leverage against President Underwood. In any case, we don't think that he will watch her from the sidelines. If President Underwood's reputation is at stake, so is her life.
"House of Cards" Season 4 premieres on Friday, Mar. 4, 2016, on Netflix.
