The season 3 premiere of "House of Cards" is just around the corner, and spoilers on what to expect, especially regarding deaths, have started buzzing.
Frank Underwood, the scheming character essayed by Kevin Spacey, has finally attained his goal to become the President. He has done this by cheating and murdering those who became a hurdle, and now that he has reached the top, there seems to be only one way to go – down.
Will Frank Underwood bite the dust in season 3? If "House of Cards" follows its source material, the Final Cut, then the possibility is high that Frank will be killed by his wife, Claire. Speculations are rife that Claire will take this unexpected step when Frank's position as the President begins to crumble.
It remains to see who will help Claire to take down her husband.
Meanwhile, Frank's ruthlessness is not going to abate in season 3, and as per Spacey, the character is going to get darker.
Spacey told E!Online back in April that both the show's writer-producer Beau Willimon and producer David Fincher have a "desire to see just how dark that well is and how deep does it go. We have miles to go before we sleep."
A new season 3 promo video for "House of Cards" was released during the 2015 Golden Globes, and from the looks of it Frank knows the dangers that are lurking around. "Do you want to know what takes real courage?" Frank says in the opening of the clip. "Holding it all together when the stakes are this high."
The promo also hints at a tension between Frank and Clair, as one scene shows Claire smooching a stranger while Frank looks on. In another shot, they are seen sitting far away in a car and looking out of their respective windows, hinting a tension between the Underwoods.
"House of Cards" season 3 will release on Netflix on 27 February.
