With Honor Note 10, Honor 9N and now Honor Play, Huawei-owned sub-brand has had quite a packed schedule. Even after launching the latest Honor Play, Honor is not free from its duties as the first sale in India turned into an admissible hit for the company, which means Honor must prepare hard for upcoming sales.
Honor Play was launched in India on Monday, August 6, starting at Rs 19,999. The first sale went live exclusively on Amazon India the same day at 4 p.m. and the company has shared an update regarding the same. According to the company, the Honor Play was sold out in just five minutes but there's no information on how many units were available during.
Honor Play comes in two variants – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB – priced at Rs 19,999 and Rs 23,999. Honor said the 4GB+64GB variant in Midnight Black colour was "highly appreciated and instantly sold out."
"We are extremely delighted by the overwhelming response for Honor Play which has resulted in the fastest flagship sale ever on Amazon. This is the first-time Indian consumers have been able to buy a real flagship performance smartphone at sub 20k," P Sanjeev, VP Sales, Huawei India-Consumer Business Group, said in a statement.
If you had your eyes on the Honor Play, but couldn't purchase the phone during its flash sale, fret not. Customers won't have to wait for long to grab another opportunity to purchase the budget premium smartphone in India. The next sale is going to be hosted on Amazon.in on Wednesday, August 8. Customers can opt to get notified when the sale begins on the platform.
Honor Play makes a strong statement with not just its price but also the specifications. There are many reasons why this new smartphone is an instant hit among customers, and here are a few.
Honor boasts its Honor Play smartphone to offer "crazy fast, crazy smart" experience to its users. The handset is equipped with AI-powered flagship Kirin 970 chipset, which unlocks AI 4D Smart Shock for different vibrations in gaming, AI 3D surround sound and AI boost for optimum performance, and GPU Turbo technology.
That's at the core of the device, but Honor Play doesn't compromise on the looks. The metallic back with notched display aligns perfectly with Honor's signature design. The handset sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio, dual rear cameras with 16MP (f/2.2, PDAF) and 2MP sensors with 4K at 30fps, EIS and AIS. Selfie lovers will find the 16MP (f/2.0) camera quite appealing.
Honor Play comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner along with ultra-fast Face Unlock feature. It is powered by a 3,750mAh battery with Quick Charge and Android 8.1-based EMUI 8.2. There are standard features such as dual SIM card support, 4G VoLTE, microSD card, USB Type-C port and more.
