Huawei's online-only sub-brand Honor has been quite busy with new product launches in India. Following major releases such as Honor Play, Honor 9N, the Chinese smartphone company is planning to launch yet another smartphone that is aimed at bringing disruption to the budget segment. Honor 7S, which is the international variant of China's Honor Play 7, is going to launch in India soon.
Honor has confirmed the arrival of Honor 7S in India through a contest, which allows participants to win the upcoming phone alongside Honor Play, Honor 9N and Honor Band 3. The revelation comes shortly after IANS reported that the smartphone is scheduled to launch in the first week of September. Given Honor 7S's listing on the official website, we can expect the new smartphone to arrive as early as this week.
Honor Play 7 was launched in China and Pakistan in May this year, giving us an early look at the phone's specs before it is released in India. In Pakistan, the Honor 7S is priced at PKR 14,499, which roughly translates to Rs 8,400. At this price point, the new smartphone will compete against handsets like Realme 2, Xiaomi's upcoming Redmi 6, YU Ace and other sub-Rs 10,000 smartphones in India.
As for the features of the Honor 7S, here's everything that customers can expect.
Honor 7S features a 5.45-inch HD+ display with FullView screen and 18:9 aspect ratio. The cameras include a 13MP rear-facing sensor with PDAF and LED flash, and a 5MP front-facing sensor for selfies. This is a downgrade from the 24MP sensor present on the Honor Play 7.
Under the hood, Honor 7S features a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 chipset paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage up to 256GB. There's a 3,020mAh battery under the hood to power the smartphone, which comes with all standard features including 3.5mm headphone jack, 4G LTE, and Bluetooth 4.2 LE.
While the pricing and availability of the Honor 7S is a mystery, for now, there's a chance to win the smartphone for free through Honor's contest. Interested folks must head over to Honor's contest website, create a free account and fill all the required information such as name and contact details.
Once registered, participants must spin the virtual wheel by clicking on it and there are four out of eight chances to win any of Honor's prizes. Winners will be notified via email on how to claim their prizes. So if you're feeling lucky, give it a spin.
