The Navi, a new kind of two-wheeler from Japanese manufacturer Honda Motorcycle and Scooter, has made it to the list of top-10 best-selling motorcycles for the month of July.
The Navi, the first product to be conceived, designed, developed and validated in India by Honda's R&D, sealed its 10th position in the list with sales of 11,644 units in July, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), as reported by ET Auto.
Priced at Rs. 39,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), Navi is designed to look like a bike with the convenience of a scooter. The Navi is powered by a 109cc four-stroke SI engine that also does duty in the Activa. The motor can churn out 7.83bhp of power at 7,000rpm and 8.96Nm of peak torque at 5,500Nm.
Honda Navi measures 1,805mm in length, 748mm in width, 1,039mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,286mm. It has a kerb weight of 101 kg and a fuel tank of 3.8 litres. It also features telescopic suspension in the front and hydraulic suspension at the rear.
While Honda Activa continued its supremacy with 2,56,173 units in July, TVS Jupiter notched the second position in the list with 46,557 units. Honda Dio, Hero Maestro and Hero Duet rounded up the top five positions in the list with 32,388 units, 32,311 units and 24,391 units, respectively.
While Yamaha's Fascino grabbed the sixth position in the list with sales figures of 18,162 units, Hero Pleasure and Yamaha Ray sealed the seventh and eighth slots, respectively. The ninth on the list was Suzuki Access with 13,120 units sold.
