Japanese auto maker Honda has introduced a new variant of Mobilio MPV in Indonesia with a price tag of 203.5 million Rupiah (approx ₹10.19 lakhs).
Dubbed Mobilio RS, the new variant of Mobilio presents sporty and aggressive styling and is positioned above the current top end variant of Mobilio. Powered by 1.5l iVTEC engine, which can churn out a power of 98.6 bhp at 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm at 1,750 rpm, the new Mobilio RS is offered in seven colours – Crystal Black Pearl, Bronze Metallic Ionized, Brilliant Gold Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, White Orchid Pearl, Carnelian Red Pearl and Alabaster Silver Metallic.
Based on the top end variant of Mobilio, the new model Mobilio RS wears a new sporty front and rear bumper along with LED projector headlamps and chrome finishing fog lamps. The aerodynamics of the Mobilo RS have been improved with a new aerodynamic kit and the features like roof mounted spoiler and 15 inch full alloy wheels add to the aggressive look of the new model.
Coming to the interior of the Mobilio RS, the MPV accommodates new features like 6.1 inch touchscreen audio system, reverse parking camera and steering mounted controls. The MPV's look has been further enhanced with the black and silver colour dashboard and leather covered seats.
With the addition of the new MPV, Mobilio is currently available in five trims in Indonesia- S MT, E MT, E CVT , E CVT Prestige and Mobilio RS. Launched in January 2014, Honda Mobilio is one of the best selling MPVs in Indonesia, as reported by Rushlane. The company has reportedly sold 35,550 units of Mobilio in the country since then with a market share of 22 percent in the same segment.
The new variant of Mobilio is offered with free regular maintenance (3 years/50,000 km) and extended warranty (5 years/1,40,000 km) for an additional fee of 4.9 million Rupiah (INR 24,555).
Meanwhile, in India reports suggest that the dealers of Honda have started accepting the booking for Mobilio with a token of ₹51,000. The auto aficionados in India are expecting the arrival of Mobilio in June. The Indian specific version of Mobilio will be offered in both petrol and diesel options.
Under the hood the petrol model of the will pack 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor, which can churn out a power of 117bhp, and the diesel variant will come with 98bhp, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit, which powers Honda's popular City and Amaze. The engine will come mated to a five-speed manual and CVT gearbox. While the diesel model of MPV Mobilio is expected to deliver 26 kmpl, the petrol version is likely to give 18 kmpl.
In India, the vehicle will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia and Honda is likely to price its new MPV in the ₹6 lakh to ₹8.50 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
