A new prototype of Renault's upcoming Lodgy has been spotted testing ahead of its possible launch in early 2015.
The test mule was filmed by a YouTube user, named Swagat Tushar, and this time, the Lodgy has shed its bulky cover-up, revealing the outline of the model. Though it still becomes difficult to figure out the exact details, a closer look at the test mule will show the new three-slat grille and it is for sure, the model will share similarities with its global counterparts, Dacia Lodgy.
Judging by the heavier camouflage at the headlamp cluster of the prototype, there could be a new design in the list. The test mule here also shows five-spoke alloy wheels and it looks like the rear end of Lodgy in India is likely to resemble its European model.
From previous spy shots, inside the cabin, Renault Lodgy is likely to accommodate features like three-spoke steering wheel, circular AC vents, dual-tone dashboard and centre armrest for rear passengers. There seems to be parking sensors and reverse camera on the menu.
Underneath the skin, it will be a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine in two states of tune - 85PS and 110P and is expected to get a manual transmission.
Scheduled to be launched in early 2015, new Lodgy will rival Honda's new Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Enjoy and upcoming Datusn Go +.
Though it is too early to talk about the pricing, rumours suggest a price tag in the range of ₹8 - ₹11 lakh in India.
