It looks like Indian auto lovers may not have to wait long to see the new Honda jazz on Indian roads. The emerging reports on the web claim that Honda is getting ready to launch its new Jazz in the country by July next year.
A new report on Economic times, citing sources close to the development claims that 2014 new Honda Jazz will make its India debut in July, followed by the launch of executive sedan Accord in 2016.
The new jazz will come in both petrol and diesel engine options in India. Under the hood, the petrol Jazz is likely to pack the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio, which can generate a power of 87bhp, with a torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm, and the diesel Jazz is expected to draw power from a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor that can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque. Honda Jazz in its new avatar is expected to deliver better fuel efficiency and to come with an attractive price tag.
Recently, the new Jazz was spied at the company's plant, indicating that the production of the new model has begun in the country.
When launched, Jazz will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Nissan Micra, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20 in India and if rumours are to be believed, Jazz will get a price tag in the range of ₹5 lakh to ₹8 lakh.
