Planning to buy Honda car? Get ready to pay more.
Honda Cars India on Monday announced that the prices of its models in the country have been increased by up to 60,000, following the government's decision to rollback excise duty cuts from 1 January 2015.
Prices of Honda's small car Brio have gone up by ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 and that of its premium sports utility vehicle CR-V is up by ₹60,000. The petrol versions of of Honda's compact sedan Amaze will now be costlier by 19,000 to ₹23, 000, while the diesel Amaze's prices have gone up by ₹23,000 to ₹26,000.
Prices of Honda's flagship brand City have also been raised. The petrol variants will also be costlier, with prices going up between 33,000 to ₹46,000. The diesel variants will also cost more, ranging from ₹37,000 to ₹48,000.
In December, auto makers like Nissan, Maruti and Mahindra increased the prices of their models in India, to offset rising input costs. The prices of Datsun cars and the Nissan range have gone up by up to 3% and 2.5% respectively.
Maruti Suzuki also hiked the prices of its models by 2-4%.
General Motors announced an increase in the range of ₹5,000 and ₹20,000 from January 2015; BMW and Hyundai have also increased their vehicle prices by up to 5% and ₹25,000 respectively.
French car maker Renault announced that its models in India would also see an increase 2.5% increase in prices from January 2015.
