When Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Honda unveiled the CBR250RR in July, the specification of the track-bred motorcycle was reserved for market launch. Ahead of the Indonesian launch, the power figure of the motorcycle has been leaked.
Leaked information indicates parallel-twin liquid cooled, 249.7cc engine with fuel injection in the CBR250RR will develop 36bhp at 12,500rpm and 22.5 Nm of peak torque at 10,500rpm mated to a six-speed transmission. The numbers are neck and neck against the main rival Yamaha R25. The CBR250RR will have a top speed of 169kmph. The motorcycle will also boast of a throttle-by-wire system with Accelerator Position Sensor.
The disappointing part for Indian biking enthusiasts is that Honda is not very keen on launching CBR250RR in India. The prime reason behind not launching the CBR250RR in India is the high price tag. Honda will be forced to price the motorcycle in the region at around Rs. 4 lakh and at that price it wouldn't be a compelling case against rivals reports Overdrive. For India, the CBR250R will be continued.
Based on the Truss frame, the CBR250RR features inverted telescopic front suspension at front and aluminium swing arm at rear. The motorcycle measures 2,060mm in length, 724mm in width and has a height of 1,098mm. It features a wheelbase of 1,389mm, ground clearance of 145mm and a seat height of 790mm. The CBR250RR sports a 14.5L fuel tank. Braking power will come from 310mm disc upfront and 240mm disc at the rear while ABS will be offered as an optional feature.
The motorcycle in the global markets will be sold in Honda racing red, Anchor graymetallic and Mat gunpowder blackmetallic shades.
