Honda Cars India (HCIL) posted 14 percent growth in domestic sales at 12,636 units in April this year, as against 11,040 cars sold in April 2014.
The company sold 827 units of Brio, 2,862 units of Amaze and 8,203 units of City, besides 55 units of CRV, its sports utility vehicle (SUV). It sold 689 units of its first MPV – Mobilio – in April this year. Exports stood at 853 units this April, taking its total sales to 13,489 units.
Honda is expected to launch its new Jazz in India this year. Rumoured to pack the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio, Honda Jazz is expected to get CVT gearbox for the petrol variant.
The petrol engine can generate a power of 87bhp with a torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm, and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor that can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque under the hood.
In its new avatar, Jazz is expected to get safety features like airbags, side airbags, and ABS with EBD. Other expected features include touchscreen infotainment with Bluetooth connectivity and multi-function steering wheel.
