Honda Cars India (HCIL) reported a marginal growth of 1% in its domestic sales at 13,431 units in May 2015.
The company had sold 13,362 units in the same month last year. The sales of Honda small car Brio stood at 873 units in May 2015, while Amaze and City recorded sales of 3,699 units and 7,562 units. Besides this, Honda sold 48 units of CRV, its sports utility vehicle (SUV) and 1,249 units of it's first MPV – Mobilio – in May this year. Exports stood at 655 units this May, taking its total sales to 14,086 units.
Meanwhile, Honda has started testing its new Jazz, which is expected to make its India debut in July this year. Under the hood, it is expected to pack the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio.
Honda Jazz is expected to get CVT gearbox for the petrol variant. The petrol engine can generate a power of 87bhp with a torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm, and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor that can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque.
