Honda Cars, which increased the prices across its model range in India in January, is now reportedly mulling another price hike in the wake of cost pressure.
A new report of Economic Times claimed Honda, the maker of Brio and City, is planning another price hike for its models in the country from April to offset the impact of increasing raw material cost. However, the report did not mention about the quantum of the price hike.
In January, Honda Cars India Ltd. announced a price hike of up to ₹60,000, following the government's decision to rollback excise duty cuts .With that, the price of Honda's small car Brio went up by ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 and that of its premium sports utility vehicle CR-V increased by ₹60,000. The petrol versions of Honda's compact sedan Amaze was hiked by ₹19,000 to ₹23, 000, while the price of diesel version of Amaze went up by ₹23,000 to ₹26,000.
In February, Honda reported an increase of 16% in its domestic sales at 16,902 units. The company sold 1,397 units of Brio, 7,163 units of Amaze and 6,505 units of City in India. In the same month, Honda's sports utility vehicle (SUV) CR-V's sales stood at 140 units.
