While it has been said for quite some time that Japanese auto-maker Honda is preparing a facelifted avatar of its popular sedan Amaze for the Indian market, we did not have any information on it so far. Now, if the emerging reports are anything to go by, the Honda Amaze facelift will get its premiere at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016.
The latest bit of information coming from the New Indian Express suggests the Honda Amaze facelift is likely to get refreshed interiors similar to the new Mobilio, which was recently unveiled in Indonesia. The new Mobilio has been spruced up with a touchscreen entertainment system with integrated reverse-camera display, rectangular air-con vents and automatic climate control. What we hear is the Amaze is also likely to get the same features in the new avatar.
The Amaze facelift is likely to carry over the same body kit of the current model, except with minor tweaks like restyled front grille. Under the hood, the Amaze is expected to pack the same 1,198cc i-VTEC petrol and 1,498cc i-DTEC diesel engines. The four-cylinder 1,198cc i-VTEC petrol develops 86.7bhp at 6,000rpm and 109Nm of torque at 4,500rpm available with five-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The four-cylinder 1,498cc i-DTEC diesel engine develops 99bhp at 3,600rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm mated to five-speed manual transmission.
Launched in April 2013, Honda Amaze, the first diesel car from the Japanese auto-maker for the Indian market, has had a successful journey so far, and continues to attract the buyers.
