Honda is all geared up for the launch of its much-awaited sedan the Accord Hybrids in India on 25 October. The Accord is making its re-entry into the Indian market three years after it was discontinued from the country.
Honda had withdrawn the Accord model from the market owing to poor sales in 2014.
The new Accord is available for bookings across the country through the dealers of Honda and is expected to get a price tag starting at Rs. 20 lakh. The Honda Accord Hybrid comes powered with a 2.0-litre Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC four-cylinder engine coupled with two electric motors. It is mated to an E-CVT transmission and a 1.3 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output of the unit stands at 213bhp and it returns an overall fuel efficiency of 23.8kmpl. Honda is also expected to launch the non-hybrid version of the Accord with a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder engine in India with 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT.
The new Accord is expected to get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera and safety features such as six airbags. From a visual stand point, the new Accord gets reworked front fascia with new headlight and grille and features taillight clusters with LED tech and tweaked rear bumper.
Honda Accord Hybrid will take on the likes of Toyota Camry Hybrid in India.
