Rajinikanth-starrer "2.0," which is also called as "Endhiran 2," seems to be getting bigger and better, with yet another name from Hollywood joining the team, this time to take its action sequences to the next level.
Aaron Crippen, who has worked in many big-ticket Hollywood movies like "The Dark Knight," and "Wanted," has joined "2.0" to coordinate a stunt sequence, reports the Times of India.
"He flew in day before yesterday (Monday) and has joined the team at EVP Film City. He is the second Hollywood stuntman to have joined the team after Kenny Bates, who has choreographed stunt sequences for films like 'Die Hard' and 'Transformers'. The shooting is going on in full swing," the daily quoted a source as saying.
It has to be noted that Stunt Silva is the main stunt director of "2.0." In the first instalment, Peter Hein had handled the action sequences.
Many big names from Hollywood are working in other departments, like make-up and VFX, in "2.0." In fact, majority of the post-production work will reportedly happen in the US.
The upcoming movie is directed by leading filmmaker Shankar. "2.0" is the sequel to the director's earlier sci-fi blockbuster "Endhiran." The first instalment, said to be one of the all-time biggest hits of Southern India, was bankrolled by Sun Pictures, while the latest film is produced by Lyca Productions.
From the first instalment, Rajinikanth has been retained to play the lead while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's place has been taken by Amy Jackson. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar plays the antagonist in the film, which is being shot simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
While "Endhiran" was made with a budget of Rs 120+ crore, its sequel will be made with Rs 350 crore. "2.0" will hit the screens in 2017.
