Hollywood sports action director Rob Miller, who has worked in few superhit Bollywood projects, will make his debut in the Malayalam cinema by associating with the team of the upcoming Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer "The Beautiful Game."
"Hollywood action director Rob Miller going to associate with The Beautiful Game [sic]," the upcoming movie's producer Asif Ali announced via his Facebook page. Sports action sequences of the upcoming movie, based on a football team in Malappuram, Kerala, will be directed by Rob, who is known for his works in the sports movies "Chakde! India" (2007), "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" (2013) and "Mary Kom" (2014).
Rob recently met photographer-turned-director Jamesh Kottakal, Asif and Prithviraj in Kochi to discuss about the movie, and it is estimated that the shooting of the sports sequences alone will cost almost Rs. 5 crore. The film, which was announced six months ago, is the second production venture of Asif under his home banner Adam's World of Imagination, which had bankrolled the 2015 heist comedy "Kohinoor."
"The Beautiful Game" is also expected to have some prominent stars of Malayalam and veteran football players from India and Africa. Scripted by Ajay Kumar, the movie is expected to go on the floors in Areekode in Malappuram.
