Bollywood style icon Sonam Kapoor, who is basking in the success of two back-to-back hit films, will soon be seen in Hollywood film "Pirates of the Caribbean 5", if all goes well.
The actress reportedly auditioned for a dream role with the help of her father Anil Kapoor for the fifth installment of the fantasy adventure series, The Times of India reported. The film, starring Hollywood star Johnny Depp, is set to hit the screens in 2015.
According to the reports, the makers of the film series got in touch with a celebrity management company who later contacted Anil Kapoor. The 56-year-old actor, who had acted in Hollywood film "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol", prepared Sonam for the film's audition.
The audition happened last week in a studio in the suburbs of Mumbai via video conferencing.
"Sonam breezed through the auditions. The outcome is awaited," a source close to the development told the daily.
Apart from Sonam, actress Tara Sharma also auditioned for a role in the film.
If Sonam impresses the casting agents and the film's makers, then she would share the screen with Johnny Depp, who would reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.
Over the years, several Indian celebrities have embarked on a career in Hollywood. Among those who made their presence felt in the overseas industry include megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Tabu, Irrfan Khan, Anupam Kher, Mallika Sherawat, Om Puri, Amrish Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Freida Pinto and several others.
