A picture of Rajinikanth was doing the rounds online, and rumours had it that it was his look from "Kabali". The image was said to be a selfie taken by the superstar. However, it turns out that the picture is fake.
Director Pa Ranjith has clarified the news on Twitter. While responding to a fan's query, the filmmaker said that the photo is not of Rajinikanth.
The image reminded us of Hollywood's most popular look of The Joker played by Heath Ledger in the movie "The Dark Knight". Reports were doing rounds that someone had leaked the snap from the sets.
Many were convinced that the person in the photo was Rajinikanth and started reacting to the picture positively.
Meanwhile, a photoshoot of the movie was recently held, in which Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte and a few others took part. The film is expected to take off on Ganesh Chathurthi, 17 September and the first look is also likely to be released on the same day.
However, recently, an authentic picture from "Kabali" photoshoot was leaked. The photo, where Rajinikanth sitting with the crew, had hit the internet through the backdoors.
"Kabali" is written and directed by Pa Ranjith. Radhika Apte will be playing the female lead role in the flick. Prakash Raj, Kalaiyarasan, Dinesh Ravi and Dhansika are part of the cast. The film has Santhosh Narayanan's music, G Murali's cinematography and Praveen K L's editing. The Tamil flick is bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu.
