Despite having clashed with Half Girlfriend at the box office, followed by the release of Sachin: A Billion Dreams the next week, Hindi Medium remained strong at the ticket counters.
In its third weekend, Hindi Medium collected Rs 1.76 crore on Friday, Rs 2.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 3 crore on Sunday. Its 17-day total domestic box office collection now stands at Rs 53.60 crore nett. "#HindiMedium crosses ₹ 50 cr... Emerges a WINNER... [Week 3] Fri 1.76 cr, Sat 2.75 cr, Sun 3 cr. Total: ₹ 53.60 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Although Hindi Medium witnessed a slow start, it picked up pace in the following days owing to its strong content, which eventually resulted in positive word of mouth publicity. While it collected Rs 2.81 crore on its opening day, its first-week collection went up to Rs 25.21 crore at Indian box office. In Week 2, the film collected another Rs 20.88 crore at the domestic market.
"#HindiMedium Week 1: ₹ 25.21 cr Week 2: ₹ 20.88 cr Weekend 3: ₹ 7.51 cr Total: ₹ 53.60 cr India biz," Adarsh further tweeted.
With such good collection, Hindi Medium is expected to enjoy a good run in the third week as well. It also won't come as a surprise if it manages to beat the box office collection of Half Girlfriend, which is nearing its lifetime business with a collection of over Rs 60 crore by the end of the third weekend.
