"Highway" starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda in the lead role has finished its first week run with ₹22.38 crore of earning.
The Bollywood drama film sustained well at the domestic box office during weekdays. After having an average opening day, the film picked up its pace on Saturday and Sunday. It dominated the market during the weekend and went on to collect ₹13.99 crore from first three days.
During the weekdays also the film maintained its position at the box office. The decline in the earnings was normal, but since there was Maha Shivaratri holiday on Thursday, the collection of the film witnessed a huge jump.
Thursday's earning was slightly better when compared to first weekday. Overall the film has put a decent box office figure in its first week.
The seven days breakup of the film according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh is:
Friday ₹3.42 crore
Saturday ₹4.82 crore
Sunday ₹5.75 crore
Monday ₹2.24 crore
Tuesday ₹2 crore
Wednesday ₹1.90 crore
Thursday ₹2.25 crore
The film managed to survive at the box office in its first week with fair result, but it remains to be seen whether it will have the same speed at the box office in second week due to the release of Vidya Balan's "Shaadi Ke Side Effects."
Meanwhile, Imtiaz Ali's directorial film is looking for ₹30 to ₹32 crore lifetime total if it survives in the second and third week.
