Hero MotoCorp had one of the most versatile stalls in the Auto Expo 2016 held in February introducing four future two-wheeler models- Splendor iSmart 110, Xtreme 200S, XF3R and the Duet-E. Among these, the first one has already launched and the Xtreme 200S is next in the pipeline waiting for the market entry soon.
"We are planning to launch the Xtreme200 Sport bike for those who like to race," Forbes India quoted Malo Le Masson, head–global product strategy at Hero MotoCorp as saying.
The Xtreme 200S is a naked sports bike showcasing Hero's knowhow in the premium bike making. The version at Auto Expo was built on a diamond frame chassis. It is characterised by a dual-tone body colour, contrast coloured seat, mud guards and alloy wheels. The model showcased was fitted with conventional fork and monoshock rear suspension, disc brakes at both ends and multi-spoke alloy wheels. The Xtreme 200S will feature split grab handles, chunky silencer, LED tail lamp and an analog-digital meter console.
The Xtreme 200S will be powered by an air-cooled, single cylinder, 4-stroke 200cc engine that will produce maximum power of 18.6 PS at 8500 rpm and maximum torque of 17.2 Nm at 6000 rpm. The mill will be mated to a five-speed gearbox. The Xtreme 200S will go up against the Pulsar 200NS, KTM Duke 200, TVS Apache RTR 200.
During the launch of the Acheiver 150 recently, Hero confirmed that it will launch an all new motorcycle at the end of Dakar rally in January 2017. This is touted to be the Xtreme 200S.
