Hero MotoCorp's Splendor is back on the no.1 spot as the best selling two-wheeler in the country after a gap of three months, overtaking Honda's Activa.
In September, while the Hero MotoCorp recorded total sales of 2,43,188 units of the Splendor range, the Honda's Activa scooters' sales stood 2,29,382 units - a difference of 13,806 units.
Hero MotoCorp's best-selling two-wheeler Splendor range includes five models - Splendor, Splendor+, Splendor Pro, Splendor Pro Classic and Splendor iSmart. The Honda Activa scooter is available in three models – Activa-i, Activa3G and Activa 125. Hero Splendor came back to the top position in the best selling two-wheeler lists after ending the three-month reign of Honda Activa from June to August.
According to data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), while Hero Splendor and Honda Activa settled for the first and second positions in the list, Hero Passion, HF Deluxe and Honda CB Shine rounded up the list of the top five.
Hero's Passion (Passion Pro, Passion XPro and Passion Pro TR) recorded sales of 1,08,395 units in September 2015, making it the third most selling two-wheeler brand, whereas Hero HF Deluxe and Hero CB Shine sold a total of 1,01,579 and 69,162 units in September respectively.
