Hero MotoCorp is reportedly looking to launch its new motorcycle Splendor iSmart 110 in India soon. According to a report of Motoroctane, the Splendor iSmart 110 is likely to be launched in India by mid-2016.
Hero Splendor iSmart 110, the first in-house made bike from Hero, is powered by an air cooled single cylinder 4-stroke 110cc engine. The engine, which can churn out 8.9bhp at 7,500rpm and 9Nm at 5,500rpm, comes mated to a four-speed gear box. Hero had showcased the Splendor iSmart 110 at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. Hero's two completely in-house developed scooters, Maestro Edge and Duet, had made its market entry last year.
The new 110cc offering of Hero is expected to be available in both monotone and dual-tone colours. At the auto show, Hero had showcased red and black and blue and black colours of the Splendor iSmart 110. It is expected to return high fuel efficiency and is likely to be priced at above Rs. 55,000 (ex-showroom).
It was also being said that Hero MotoCorp is working on a new commuter motorcycle for the Indian market, which would rival Bajaj's new CT100B. Hero's rumoured bike is expected to cost less than Rs 30,000. The bike, which is currently said to be in its initial stages of development, would be priced below Hero's HF Dawn. Hero HF Dawn has been priced at Rs 39,470 (ex-showroom).
