Jayden Wilson, 5, who became an Internet sensation after a video of his father dressed up as Spider-dad went viral on social networking sites, passed away late on Christmas eve.
"Jayden fought an amazing battle. By far he was the most bravest person we know. But unfortunately late on Christmas Eve, Jayden Died peacefully in his sleep, warm in his bed," Hope For Jayden posted the farewell note on 26 December.
"He looked so relaxed with a very subtle grin on his face. We believe he waited to be out of hospital to be with his family in the most safest place he knew. Jayden had such a happy life. What an incredible 5 years."
Jayden, from Basingstoke in Hampshire was only given one year time to live after he was diagnosed with cancer in September 2013.
One of his biggest dreams was to meet his superhero Spider-man, which his father helped him to accomplish on his fifth birthday.
In the viral video, his father Mike Wilson surprised the little boy by dressing up as his favourite superhero and played with him. The viral footage received more than nine million views after it was uploaded on YouTube.
