It looks like the launch date of Bajaj's updated Achiever 150 has almost been confirmed and the company has started sending out invites for a press event on September 26.
Although the invite does not specify which of the Hero models that have been rumoured for the past couple of months will be launched on this day, the general consensus is that the first to come out of the block will be the Achiever 150.
Hero had confirmed earlier that the company has plans to launch 15 new products in the Indian market this fiscal. Of the 15 new offerings, the company will roll out the three models during this festive season. The Achiever 150 launch in India is expected to be followed by 125cc Super Splendor and 100cc Passion Pro.
Hero Achiever 150 is expected to get mainly cosmetic upgrades such as new graphics and body decals. The motorcycle is likely to be get the same air cooled, 4-stroke single cylinder OHC 149.1cc engine, which can churn out 13.4bhp of power at 8000rpm and 12.80Nm of torque at 5000rpm. In the new avatar, the Achiever could be re-tuned to deliver better fuel efficiency than the current model in the market.
Hero is also expected to equip its current models like the Passion Pro and the Glamour with the company's patented i3S technology. The i3S technology automatically shuts the engine when idling and turns it on when needed with just one click.
