The two-wheeler makers in the country are gearing up to roll out their new models during the festive season this year. If the emerging reports on the web are anything to go by, Hero MotoCorp is getting ready to launch two new scooters in india soon.
A MoneyControl report, citing Hero MotoCorp's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Ravi Sud, reveals that the company is prepping to launch two new scooters in the Indian market within two months, ahead of the festive season. He refrained from giving away details about the products. Although it is not sure which of the Hero scooters that have been testing on the Indian roads will enter the market during this festive season, rumours has it that it will be Maestro edge and Dash scooters.
Speaking of Hero Maestro Edge, the 125cc scooter of the company will mark Hero's entry into a burgeoning 125cc segment. According to the previous reports, Maestro Edge will be powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that can generate about 1bhp more than the current maestro version. The engine is speculated to come mated to CVT (continuous variable transmission) and will be offered in two variants, with and without disc brake. Visually, Hero Maestro Edge is likely to retain the style and design of the exiting model, but with premium features like alloy wheels.
On the other hand, Hero's 110cc scooter Dash has been in the news for quite some time. Hero Dash has been spied on a few times already and is likely to be 1,850mm in length, 822mm in width and 1,270mm in width. Power is likely to come from a 111cc 4-stroke, air-cooled engine that can churn out power of 8.44bhp and peak toque of 9.4Nm.
