Hero Electric, a wing of Hero MotoCorp forayed into the Electric scooter segment with its new-age high-speed scooter Photon.
First showcased earlier this year at Delhi Auto Expo, Hero Photon has been test marketing in select markets in the country. Now the company launched its first electric scooter in the domestic market with a price tag of ₹54,110 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Photon scooter targets people of all category including working women, youngsters and senior citizens.
The new electric scooter of Hero looks just like any other scooter in the domestic market and it comes with attractive features like front telescopic suspensions, anti-theft alarm, float-cum-boost charger, aerodynamic style, Economy & Power Mode.
It is offered in three colour options - Vivid Burgundy, Vanilla White and Velvet Black and is on sales in five metro cities in India - Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore.
The High Mag-Flux with 46 magnetic poles of the photon offers high efficiency and torque, which would help to provide smooth ride even on slopes without overloading. The scooter comes with AGM VRLA battery made of the highest purity materials and there is also 24 MHz electronic controller.

Hero Electric also offers financial aid to the prospective customers for eight months and the buyers will also be getting easy Battery EMI scheme within 24 months of purchase with a 'Super Saver Battery Scheme'.
Unlike other electric scooter, the Hero's new Photon riders require two-wheeler licence and complete registration.
