If latest reports are anything to go by, Hero MotoCorp's off-road motorcycle Impulse is getting ready to come in new avatars in India. Hero is looking to launch the Impulse off-roader in two new options – 200cc and 250cc, reports MotorOctane.
While the Impulse 250cc is rumoured to be launched in India by the end of this year, the 200cc would reportedly join the line-up in 2017. According to the report, the Impulse 250cc is likely to use the same engine of the yet-to-be launched HX250. This engine is likely to be tuned to churn out 31bhp and will get two riding mode options– City and Sport. The 250cc version of the impulse is also rumoured to get C-ABS (Combi ABS) system.
Hero Impulse, which is in the market now, is powered by a 149.2 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled unit developing a power of 13bhp. Although the 150cc engine bike had received rave reviews during the initial days of its launch, the motorcycle could not sustain the demand. With the new avatars of the Impulse, Hero will be looking to expand its reach in the adventure motorcycle segment.
Meanwhile, rumours are also rife that Hero is working on a new low-cost bike for the Indian market. The bike, which is currently said to be in its initial stages of development, would be priced below Hero's HF Dawn. Other details about the new entry-level bike are scanty at this point of time.
