The first look of Athiya Shetty in Nikhil Advani directorial "Hero" was released on Sunday. 

The film is a remake of 1983 Subhash Ghai directorial with the same title that starred Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadri. The remake, which has newcomers Sooraj Pancholi (son of actor Aditya Pancholi) and Athiya (daughter of Sunil Shetty) in the lead roles, is produced by Salman Khan and Subash Ghai.

Ten days ago, Salman had revealed the first look of Sooraj in "Hero" on his Twitter handle. While Sooraj's first look was rough and fierce, Athiya looks like a fun-loving and bubbly girl.

There were reports that the "Dabangg" actor will sing in this film. He will take part in a duet with singer Palak Mucchal, popularly known for her hit songs, "Meri Aashiqui" and "Jumme Ki Raat".

However, Salman has exhibited his crooning skills in "Hangover" from his film "Kick" as well.

"Hero" also features Govinda and Vinod Khanna in important roles and Salman will make special appearance. The film is slated for release on 4 September.

Meanwhile, the actor will be next seen in Kabir Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and Sooraj Barjatya's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo".
