Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty starrer "Hero" has opened to good response at the box office on Friday.

While the romantic film, which is a remake of 1983 film of the same name, opened to negative reviews with critics panning the lead actors, director and screenplay, it has not affected the first day business of the film.

"Hero" movie has opened to 30 to 35% occupancy in the morning shows on its opening day at the box office. And the occupancy will increase in the evening and night shows, which will help in summing up a good opening day.

As reported earlier, a good opening for "Hero" was predicted with its advance booking status and even trade analysts had said the same thing about it.

Backed by Salman Khan, the film has good music and the lead actors have impressed audiences.

"The very fact that Salman Khan is launching these two actors has ensured tremendous buzz for the film. I guess, Hero is going to open fairly well considering the fact that it's the launch vehicle of two débutantes. I won't be surprised if it does a Rs 6-6.5 crore day one, which is fairly good for a film with débutantes. The film in itself and even the songs are really very good and that will draw in the crowd. Overall in its lifetime collections, the film can collect around Rs 45-50 crore plus, if it clicks and I think it will," exhibitor and distributor, Akshaye Rathi told BollywoodLife.com

Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film also features Tigmanshu Dhulia, Aditya Pancholi, Imran Hasnee and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles.
