Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh will tie the knot with model and Bollywood actress Hazel Keech on November 30 at a gurdwara in Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab, without the presence of his father Yograj Singh.
Yuvraj's father told Hindustan Times that since the traditional wedding will be solemnised in the presence of religious guru, he will not be attending it. Yograj is a firm believer of God but is against religious gurus. "It is my misfortune that I will not be attending the traditional wedding of my son ... I had told Yuvraj's mother that I will not attend the wedding if it is solemnised at any guru or dera sect or involves any religious guru. It's destiny, I will not go. I only believe in God and not religious gurus," Yograj said.
However, the elderly man will be by his son's side during the mehendi ceremony, which will be held at Hotel Lalit on November 29. "I won't even go to the house of my father uninvited. But I will attend the mehndi function at Hotel Lalit on November 29. I was invited with respect by my son and my name is printed on the invites. I will go there as my son wants me to be there," he said.
After the wedding in gurudwara, another wedding as per Hindu rituals (Hazel's mother is a Hindu) in Goa on December 2. Soon after the wedding, the newlyweds will fly to Delhi for their sangeet and reception ceremonies, which will be held on December 5 and 7, respectively.
Recently, Yuvraj was spotted entering the Indian parliament, where he wanted to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries to extend the invitation for his wedding. Yuvraj was accompanied by his mother Shabnam Singh.
