His well-groomed full beard and intimidating scowl in the "Raees" teaser and poster has got people excited and beleiving that this could turn out to be one of Shah Rukh Khan's best performances in years. The superstar believes it's his co-stars in the film who'll help him improve his performance.
"I think we have a great set of actors. The film is a little more on the real zone. Rahul Dholakia is directing it. There is Mahira Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. We have really fine actors. I am really impressed by the quality of actors we have in the film and hopefully they will help me improve my performance," SRK told the Press Trust of India on the sidelines of the Times Of India Film Awards (TOIFA) 2016.
Although the 50-year-old is concentrating on the crime-drama in question as of now, news of he essaying a turbaned Sikh tourist and a "little person" in his next films have been doing the rounds. Denying everything, SRK said he was only in talks with the said directors (Aanand L Rai and Imtiaz Ali), and would be in a position to discuss the details of it openly once he begins work on them, starting June-July.
"Who reported this? If journalists have reported this, it is not true. So I'll tell you when I will do the film. Yes, I am talking to Aanand, Imtiaz and five other directors... I start new films in June or July after I finish last bits of 'Raees', [sic]" he added.
Apart from the central cast and its setting, "Raees" may have something special to offer. It is being said Sunny Leone has been roped in to feature in a special song, in which she will be seen wooing SRK wearing a sequined gown and a plumed headgear. A lavish set is being erected; the actress begins her two-day schedule in April.
Scheduled for an Eid release, the film may clash with Salman Khan's "Sultan."
