"Nach Baliye 7" couple Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna have been bombarded with harsh comments and opinions ever since they began their journey together on controversial reality TV show "Bigg Boss 8", but they are more than what they are made out to be in the news.
A few days ago, both shared some good news with the fans. Thrilled about the new association, Karishma and Upen announced they were going to be a part of Chinese filmmaker Edd Liu's project. It has now turned out that the story was fake and it was done to raise funds for girls' education.
"9Apps came to us with a proposal of breaking this news so that more and more people could download this app. The amount collected from the surge in downloads will be donated to any charity organisation of our choice. In our case, we are donating it to Prayas Social Welfare Society," India-forum quoted Upen as saying.
In other news, the couple had reportedly become an object of scorn for having resorted to unfair means to ace the compatibility tasks. Word has it, fellow contestants were tired of their high-handedness and often complained about them being lazy.
"The duo seems to be always in their own sweet world and work according to their comfort. They are most of the time moody and their high-handedness is becoming a pain for all," Tellychakkar quoted a source as saying.
Also, there have been conjectures that the "36 China Town" actor's rude behaviour left a unit member in tears, after which she quit the job.
However, despite drawing so much flak, the couple have been delivering stunning performances week after week.
