Kendall Jenner's Instagram account disappeared mysteriously on November 14. The 21-year-old supermodel finally broke her silence about her break from social media on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
"I just wanted a detox. I just wanted a little break. I'm always on it," she said. "I would wake up in the morning and it was the first thing. I would go to bed and it was the last thing. I was a little too dependent on it; it's a detox. I'll be back!"
She did not have any idea that others were even talking about it as she disabled Twitter on her phone. But she did not delete it entirely. "It's so crazy to me that it even became huge news like that," she told Ellen.
Kendall explained that she honestly did not think that anybody would care about it. "And my friends kept texting me, and my family members, and I was like, 'how does anyone even know?' And they started sending me links to like, CNN and everything, and I was like, 'why is this even a big deal?'."
When Ellen asked Kendall if she was enjoying her detox, she said she is all for her break from social media, and it may be a while before she is back online.
"I kind of love it," Kendall said. "I'll be on my phone and go to click on Instagram, and it won't be there. It's kind of a refreshing feeling.
"I'm away from my phone so much more. You start to engage in like real life, and you have to deal with real people right in front of you. So it's kind of really nice to be away from it, even if it's just Instagram."
