Deepika Singh, who has been charming her fans with the role of Sandhya on "Diya Aur Baati Hum," has completed five years on the show. While the actress is in a celebratory mood, she has another reason to rejoice. "Diya Aur Baati Hum," which revolves around an IPS officer Sandhya and her married life with Sooraj (played by Anas Rashid), completed 1,400 episodes on Wednesday, June 15.
Deepika took to her Instagram page to express her gratitude towards her fans for the love showered on her and the show. "Down the memory lane!!!! Guys today I completed 5years of shooting with #diyaaurbaatihum #nostalgia #FeelingAmazed also today we complete 1400 episodes it's time to celebrate I'll live chat with you all today at 7pm onwards on my #FacebookPage see you all and thanks for everything love u [sic]," she posted.
Meanwhile, speculations have been doing the rounds that "Diya Aur Baati Hum" will go off air owing to the constant drop in its ratings. However, the latest reports suggest that the show's makers have apparently decided to air the last episode on August 15.
Although "Diya Aur Baati Hum," with its unique concept and the powerful performances by the cast, was one of the top shows since its inception, for the past few months it has been experiencing drastic fall in ratings.
Besides the low Television Rating Points (TRPs), there were reports that the makers were apparently quite upset with the tantrums of the lead actors Deepika and Anas, who are apparently not on good terms. However, Shashi Mittal, the producer of the show, had refuted the reports of the lead pair throwing tantrums.
